St. Martin enjoys a warm and sunny subtropical climate, and is approximately 75 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. Visitors to St. Martin should plan summer clothes and accessories year-round: bathing suits, T-shirts, shorts, sunglasses, sunscreen and insect repellent.
In the summer, local time in St. Martin is the same as in New York. From late October to late March, the island is one hour ahead.
The euro is the official currency of French St. Martin, however, the dollar is accepted everywhere. There are many change points available for changing money.
To call French St. Martin from the US, dial 011 then 590 and then the number (590 will appear twice). To call the US from St. Martin, dial 001 and the number.
A current passport is necessary in order to visit St. Martin although no vaccine is required prior to travel. Animals must have a valid health certificate to be able to enter the island.

The island of St. Martin has two airports, Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) and Saint-Martin Grand-Case Airport (SFG). Grand Case Airport handles only direct regional connections to the islands of St. Barts, Guadeloupe, and Martinique. Air Caraïbes and Air Antilles Express offer service to Guadeloupe and Martinique.
