Vignobles & Découvertes: Perpignan Méditerranée Rivesaltes
The Vignobles & Découvertes label aims to provide quality services and visits catering to wine tourism. The label appeals to a customer base that appreciates the world of wine without necessarily being connoisseurs, and offers a range of quality services: accommodation, cultural sites, leisure activities, cellar tours, restaurants, exploration of natural spaces, events and more.
Destination: Perpignan Méditerranée Rivesaltes
The “Perpignan Méditerranée Rivesaltes” destination extends from the Mediterranean coast to the first foothills of the Pyrenees and continues along the southern part of Corbières, into Pays Cathare. A land marked by history and interaction, the destination offers a preserved and welcoming environment that reflects the gentle Mediterranean way of life.
Visitors will have the chance to admire the many different local areas, crossed by the Agly and Têt coastal rivers, while discovering a rich mosaic of wine-producing landscapes.
Appellations d’origine contrôlée (controlled designations of origin) distinguish the labelled destination’s wines: Vins Doux Naturels Maury, Rivesaltes and Muscat de Rivesaltes AOCs - naturally sweet wines - rub shoulders with Côtes du Roussillon and Côtes du Roussillon Villages AOC wines.
The “Perpignan Méditerranée Rivesaltes” destination offers a selection of cellars, charming hotels and B&Bs, along with a choice of restaurants serving traditional cuisine as well as set menus suggesting wine pairings. Several tourist offices and partner tourist centres throughout the area welcome all visitors and are equipped with specific information ready to help.
Visitors will be able to discover heritage sites such as Le Castillet and the Palais des Rois de Majorque in Perpignan, the Prehistoric Museum in Tautavel, the Maison du Terroir in Maury, or take a trip on the red and white train through the Pays Cathare and Fenouillèdes region.
They will also be able to take part in a host of activities linked to the world of wine and vineyards available in several languages, along with events that highlight the region and its local traditions.
