The Vignobles & Découvertes label aims to provide quality services and visits catering to wine tourism. The label appeals to a customer base that appreciates the world of wine without necessarily being connoisseurs, and offers a range of quality services: accommodation, cultural sites, leisure activities, cellar tours, restaurants, exploration of natural spaces, events and more.
Eight destinations in Loire Valley have been awarded the label: Val de Loire, Amboise - Val de Loire, Chenonceau - Vallée du Loir - Chinon, Bourgueil, Azay - Saumur, Val de Loire - Vallée du Layon - Muscadet Loire Océan - Angers Loire Valley.
In the immediate vicinity of Tours and some fifteen kilometres from Blois, the destination’s identity is based on widely preserved natural landscapes, the architectural quality of its building heritage (accumulated over the centuries thanks to the historic role of this region chosen by kings), along with its gentle pace of life, highly influenced by the presence of the Loire and its vineyards.
The “Val de Loire, Amboise” destination offers a selection of 24 cellars open to tourists built in troglodytic sites, and spread over 3 AOCs: Vouvray AOC, Touraine-Amboise AOC, and Touraine-Mesland AOC. The destination offers a variety of some fifty high-quality accommodation options and a choice of 25 restaurants serving traditional cuisine based on local produce.
Visitors will be able to discover major sites known throughout the world for their historical importance and architectural features, such as the Château Royal d’Amboise and the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire and its gardens. They will be able to enjoy a number of activities linked to wine, family and the local heritage: the wine museum, a hot air balloon flight over the valley, a boat trip, as well as arts and crafts.
