lille3000 - FANTASTIC 2012
Festivities will kick off with the opening Parade on the 6th of October, immersing visitors into a wonderful and unreal world. With original and surreal installations under the theme of “Urban Metamorphosis”, Lille will be truly transformed into a supernatural world. For an idea, there’ll be a flying saucer in Lille Flandres Station, misty fog hanging in front of the Lille Europe Station, plants of the future at Jean-Baptiste Lebas Park and dinner with Gulliver the giant!
Coinciding with this, Lille and its surrounding towns will be welcoming several expositions including:
- Phantasia au Tripostal, from the 6th of October, 2012, to the 13th of January, 2013
- Fantastic Attractions at Gare Saint Sauveur, from the 6th of October, 2012, to the 13th of January, 2013
- Babel at Palais des Beaux-Arts from the 8th of June, 2012, to the 14th of January, 2013
- Mangapolis at the Maison de la Ville et de l'Architecture, October, 2012
FANTASTIC will take place in 71 towns. To better help visitors find their way through all of the events, each of the 8 metropolitan areas have each chosen a weekend and a theme to collective decline. Visitors will then be able to discover several villages and their original programmes, crossing fields like public paces or in the movies, museums, cultural factories, music schools, theatrical and musical scenes around the highlights, it’s all both active and surprising.
