Les Nuits de Fourvière Festival in Lyon
Les Nuits de Fourvière Festival offers a multidisciplinary programme of theatre, dance, opera, music and circus: eight weeks of festivities, 118 performances from 42 different shows. Among them, 6 creations, 7 French premieres, 6 world premieres and many co-productions will be presented in the Gallo-roman site of Fourvière (Grand theatre, Odéon theatre and Esplanade).
Besides the opening performance with Cyrano de Bergerac directed by Georges Lavaudant, six creations will share the stage. Circus with the world premiere of the festival creation Opus by Circa and the Quatuor Debussy; theatre with Emmanuel Daumas’ new version of Anna from Serge Gainsbourg; opera with Carmen from Bizet directed by Mario Tronco; and two nights designed by the Austrian ensemble Franui with readings by André Wilms.
Co-productions, artists loyal to the festival … Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui will be back at Les Nuits with Milonga. The Cirque Plume will settle the big top for 27 performances of their latest creation Tempus Fugit.
