The Paris Marathon is one of the world's major marathons along with New York, London, Berlin and Chicago.
One hundred nations and 50,000 runners will be competing over the 26 miles and 385 yards (42.195 km) in the streets of the French capital. In April, this journey through Paris, from the Champs-Elysées to avenue Foch via the Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne woods, boasts an unrivalled backdrop dotted with a wealth of popular events.
The most musical of marathons
Several orchestras, positioned along the whole route, will be giving the most popular sporting event in France a festive, community feel. A whole world of fun and festivities will be joining forces with the Schneider Electric Paris Marathon.
