The concert of Barbara Hendricks

  • Wednesday, 13 August 2014 21:30 - "Blues everywhere I go"
Singing of suffering, love and hope, the opera diva Barbara Hendricks finds inspiration in her roots and the story of the blues. The voice of this universally-acclaimed and appreciated singer is
enriched with sumptuous colours, smoothness and warmth in the blues repertoire. Barbara Hendricks' blues interpretations are redolent with the joy, freedom and litheness typical of all her performances. Billie, Bessie and The Duke are sung with the same love and respect as Mozart, Poulenc and Stravinsky. Barbara's artistic scope and the infinite richness of her musical expression are further magnified here by the modernity and creativity of her musicians, directed by pianist Mathias Algotsson.
