Pierre Boulez Temporary exhibition

The Musée de la Musique Pays Tribute to Pierre Boulez, a Distinguished 20th Century French Composer and Musician.


Eminent artist Pierre Boulez is a musician, conductor, composer, teacher, and influencer.  In 2015, he will celebrate his 90th birthday. On this occasion, the Philharmonie de Paris will look back on his oeuvre, and particularly on the inspiration drawn from literature and visual arts. 

The exhibition will analyze six major works: Deuxième Sonate, Le Marteau sans maître, Pli selon pli, Rituel, Répons, and Sur Incises. A special focus will examine his ongoing relationship with other art forms he considered a vital source of inspiration.

Works by visual artists such as Kandinsky, Klee, and Miró will also be added to the exhibition.

  • Tuesday to Friday: 12:00 (noon) to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 a. m. to 6:00 p. m.
  •  Monday: Closed
