Tim Burton at the Cinémathèque française in Paris
After the MoMA in New York, the Cinémathèque française hosts a not-to-miss exhibition about the famous film director's works through an amazing retrospective, from March 7 to August 5, 2012.
We know Tim Burton as a director, putting new life into contemporary cinema. We barely know Tim Burton as an illustrator and photographer, heir to Surrealism and a popular culture constantly revisited.
Drawings, paintings, storyboards, models, costumes, film extracts... This exhibition is a unique opportunity to look through his artistic work. Visitors will discover original first works, when he was a teenager in Los Angeles suburbs, then student in the prestigious CalArts Institute created by Disney.
It also reveals all his filmography, as well as super 8 movies or 16mm movies. Some extracts from his most famous films will be showed such as Edward Scissorhands, Batman, Mars Attacks !, Ed Wood or Sleepy Hollow.
