Funnily enough, it was after his time as a martial arts teacher that Jean-Luc Pelé switched to a career in pastry-making, when he was to launch a chain of shops starting in Meudon, then Cannes.
The craftsman has gone one step further in Antibes: he has created a convivial area greatly inspired from the atmosphere in Tim Burton films. "I had an unused corridor, intended for leading to the upper floor via a hidden door. I had the idea of coating the walls and ceiling in edible chocolate. I created a framework, and threw chocolate onto the walls so that it formed a sort of edible wallpaper. For the chocolate to stay in place without melting, I maintain the room temperature at 20 degrees with a humidity control system. The room has a delicious chocolate smell and will develop over the coming months with the creation of stalagmites, in chocolate too, like in a real cave."

The label "Qualité Tourisme" has been awarded, valid until 24th August 2017.
Since 2005, the National Federation of French Tourist Offices has been granted authority by the Ministry for the awarding of the "Qualité Tourisme™" label to participating Tourist Offices.
The Antibes Juan-les-Pins Tourist Office began applying the guidelines as early as June 2006. The Qualité Tourisme label was obtained on 17th January 2008 for a three-year period: it was renewed for three more years after a second audit in 2011, then renewed again following the audit in 2014. This national label makes it possible to:
- Communicate with reference to a recognized and rewarded policy
- Strengthen the Tourist Office’s image as a tourism professional in its dealings with tourist service providers and establishments
- Position the Tourist Office as a quality landmark for its partners Improve the interface between the region and its visitors

Tourism and Handicap...
The Antibes Juan-les-Pins Tourist Office, very keen to ensure the best possible conditions for welcoming disabled tourists, decided to take all necessary measures to obtain one or several "Tourisme et Handicap" labels.
During the first quarter of 2015, all 4 Tourisme & Handicap labels were awarded to the Tourist Office in Antibes and in Juan-les-Pins:
Motor Handicap (new in 2015 for both offices)
(The first 3 labels were already obtained in 2008.)
Furthermore, in summer the town of Antibes Juan-les-Pins has two beaches (Ponteil and Salis) specially equipped to enable the physically handicapped or visually impaired to enjoy all the pleasures of bathing, 7 days a week from 9:30am to 6:30pm, from mid-June to mid-September.
Through the methods instituted and a quality welcome, the Tourist Advisers of the Antibes and Juan-les-Pins Tourist Office are specially trained and their awareness raised so they can receive all people affected by a handicap. In order to improve the welcome of these disabled tourists, changes have been made to the installations, and pictograms added to all the display stands.
• Esplanade "Pré des Pêcheurs"
A new esplanade beside the Antibes harbour. This hectare of open space between port Vauban and the ramparts in fact covers the recently completed underground car park, comprising 3 levels and 600 parking spaces.
• A Conference Centre on a human scale
The new conference centre, opened in September 2013, consists of multi-purpose areas covering 6,500m², an auditorium with 500 seats, 1,600m² for exhibitions and catering, 12 meeting rooms, reception areas with panoramic view as well as a welcome area. The building also houses a shopping gallery consisting of different boutiques (ready-to-wear clothing, services, a restaurant, luxury items and a fitness centre), as well as a supermarket.An underground car park of 376 slots complements the existing neighbouring car park of 350 spaces.
A high-level multisports hall - Azur Arena Antibes
This new building of 13,864 m² houses a dojo, a trampoline pit and a gymnasium capable of welcoming 5,000 spectators. The sports centre is able to receive any discipline (handball, tennis, boxing…) but it is especially dedicated to the Antibes basketball team, the Sharks. This complex also houses a restaurant, two refreshment rooms, a shop and a car park with 600 spaces.

An outstanding programme all year round! Anthéa contains two auditoriums: a large one with 1,200 seats and a smaller one with 200 seats. An underground car park is available on performance evenings.
The Community Theatre of Antibes also has a bar restaurant on the ground floor and a terrace with a panoramic view stretching from Nice to Cap d’Antibes.

Tripadvisor recently awarded three Certificates of Excellence for "things to see and do" in Antibes: firstly the coastal path Cap d’Antibes, then the Garoupe lighthouse and the Picasso Museum.
After several months of closure for restoration, the park Marineland, the Hôtel and restaurant Red d’Hippo, Kid’s Island and Adventure Golf have reopened in March 2016. The teams at Marineland have developed new and educational programmes based on sharing their enthusiasm.
