Galeries Lafayette inaugurates its second floor
Under the signature of architect Bruno Moinard and designer Yann Kersalé, who redesigned the Dome's spectacular light display to celebrate its centenary, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann reveals its new woman's department on the second floor, which has been completely updated to welcome new fashions and accessories from top brands.
About 300 brands are featured in this space spanning 4,600 m2, among which there are 17 new fashion brands and more than 170 new brands of accessories, most of which are exclusive. With the floor's new design, rare luxury products are displayed alongside unique and affordable designs for under 45 euros. Also on the floor are two new fashion "laboratories," which feature luxury designers and the latest trends throughout the year. In these "laboratories," Galeries Lafayette offers two visions of fashion: today's must-have designs at affordable prices and the season's most sought-after and exclusive luxury goods, all expressing a common theme: fashion.
The Designer's Laboratory: presented as a 60 sq m concept store, every season it will host around ten young designers from around the world who have been spotted by our expert buyers. The concrete interior with dark parquet flooring and funky changing rooms will be complete with tables of matching accessories (candles, stationery, small leather goods, decorative items, books, etc.).
The Luxury Laboratory: daywear and eveningwear dresses to make you the belle of the ball! With their personality and keen sense of style, nine brands caught Galeries Lafayette's eye for this original concept store. In a stylish Parisian apartment-style interior, the season's prettiest dresses share the 60 sq m space with furs, bags and high heels, presenting a complete outfit for a sophisticated look.
These laboratories have been created by architect Bruno Moinard.
The vast renovation of the store will continue in 2013 with the RTW departments for Women, Lingerie and Men.
The ground floor of Lafayette Homme has been completely rethought as well, now offering a wide range of fashions, ranging from affordable to luxury products.
