Passion - Rendez-vous en France, the high-end magazine of Atout France - the France Tourism Development Agency, is now in its second incarnation. Passion provides affluent and influential Americans with an insider view of the best that French lifestyle and know-how has to offer.
New this year is the recently inaugurated online members-only community of www.francepassionmagazine.com, which features articles from the 66-page print magazine and offers members regular updates and fresh articles on culture, design, exclusive experiences and cuisine.
This year's edition previews two major developments in France for 2013. One is Marseille-Provence 2013 —European Capital of Culture. Marseille is a city which had undergone a spectacular transformation in preparation for this year-long event: restorations of its historic harbor and city center, creations of several new cultural venues, including the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations (MUCEM), and blockbuster exhibitions in Aix-en-Provence, Aubagne and Marseille.
Passion Magazine also profiles leading figures in the world of French fashion and know-how, from features on the 90th anniversary of Chanel's famed perfume #5 to "The shoemaker with the world at his feet" Christian Louboutin and "cover-girl" Inès de la Fressange, the ultimate Parisian French fashion icon.
French cuisine is abundantly covered in savory features on the "black diamond" of the Rhône-Alpes, the route of absinthe in Franche-Comté and an insider's tips on seaside dining in the South of France. When it comes to lifestyle, Passion introduces readers to winter polo matches in the Alps' posh resort of Megève, vintage auto competitions and exploring the "puces" (or flea markets) of Saint-Ouen with a personal shopper.
