Water activities in Provence hyeres fr

Provence’s stunning Mediterranean coastline is a mecca for watersports enthusiasts as well as lazy beach bunnies. Its string of resorts offers adrenaline-pumping waterskiing, breathtaking diving and more sedate sailing – the Var department alone boasts 230 sandy beaches and coves lapped by azure waters. One of your holiday highlights could be to slip on your fins and explore the underwater treasures around the islands off the coast of Hyères.

But you don’t have to be on the Provence coast to enjoy water activities – the Splashworld water park in Monteux (French website only) three miles from Avignon, is a great place for an alternative family day trip. With over 600 palm trees creating an inviting tropical atmosphere and lovely warm water heated to 28°C, kids will love it – especially the water rides, which include the largest surfing simulator ever created (with waves of up to 10 feet high) and the Hurricana Slide, the tallest freefall water slide in Europe. Splashworld opens for the 2017 summer season on 3 June.
