Launches a New Challenge for 2016!
In recognition of last year’s outstanding service provided by cruise lines in the French Riviera ports, “French Riviera Cruise Club awards” will be attributed to the winning cruise lines in March during Seatrade Cruise Global event in Fort Lauderdale. The winners of each award will be honored with a VIP reception held in French Riviera, and the winner of the Green Award will also receive a reduction on port fees in 2016.
Marseille Ranked Among the World’s Top 15 Cruise Ports
With almost 1.5 million passengers and 450 port calls in 2015, Marseille –the no.1 cruise port in France and no. 5 in the Mediterranean- has posted the best performance figures for a Mediterranean port for the second year running. Moreover, it has moved into the world's top 15 cruise ports.
New Berths for the Largest Ships in the Port of Sete
Three new berths can welcome ships up to 250m long, and with the delivery of "H" berth in 2016, the port is now able to accept the largest ships, offering new guests the opportunity to discover the charm and authenticity of Sete. With five UNESCO “World Heritage” sites accessible from the port of Sète, Midi-Pyrénées-Languedoc-Roussillon is an extraordinary garden to explore, discover, and taste.
The Ports of Toulon Bay: The New Cruise Ships’ El Dorado
Located in the most beautiful bay in Europe, the Ports of Toulon Bay, consisting of the ports of Toulon and La Seyne-sur-Mer, have encountered a steady increase of traffic over the past four years. 2016 will be the record-breaking year: 146 calls are scheduled (a growth of 23% compared to 2015) and among them 16 maiden calls, 25 double calls, and 2 triple calls!
The Ports of Toulon Bay are also the leaders in ferry service to Corsica, well ahead of Marseille and Nice. In total, they will welcome 312,900 cruise passengers over the course of the year.
