Snow Chic by Monte-Carlo SBM Resort Monaco fr

Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is transforming the Place du Casino de Monte-Carlo into a glamorous ski resort.

From 2 December 2016 until 7 January 2017

Children and adults alike can come to admire the decorations at the Place du Casino de MonteCarlo, the beating heart of the Principality of Monaco, which offers a sumptuous light show based on the theme “Snow Chic by Monte-Carlo”.  For this newest iteration, the fountain at the Monte-Carlo Pavilions will be transformed into a giant snowball, one of the site's main attractions. A wide range of prestigious vintage elements inspired by the mountain landscape will complement the decoration, creating an elegant and carefree ambience. There will be snow-covered Christmas trees and ski-lift cabins featuring luxury brands such as Chopard, Richard Mille, HRH and Pretty You, while the unmissable 2007 winner of the Best Cheesemaker award, Bernard Mure-Ravaud, will be offering a tasting of rare cheeses, with products such as Bleu Termignon and Beaufort d’Alpage on the menu, at the Brasserie of the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo.

A beautifully staged scene spans the length of the Monte-Carlo Shopping promenade: the Monte-Carlo Pavilions, the Square Beaumarchais, the Avenue de Monte-Carlo and the Allée François Blanc will be offering a selection of unique gifts. A slalom between the boutiques and Christmas cabins ends in a delectable pause to gather around an all-chocolate Christmas treat, on offer in the Salle Belle Epoque at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.

Lovers of sophisticated delicacies will fall for the charm of “La Bûche du Châtaignier” (the Chestnut Log, to take away), created by the Pastry Chef for the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, who wished to share the memory of his childhood strolls through the forest. A fresh invitation to a wonderful woodland adventure, including a mandarin compote and a light chestnut mousse over a pine-nut praline crisp.

Perfect for families or for reconnecting with your inner child, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort metamorphoses into a winter sport centre for the whole month of December.

First stop: L’Orange Verte, where a ski-lift installed on the terrace offers the chance to stop for a drink in the heart of a forest of Christmas trees before continuing to stroll among the log cabins to enjoy some hot chocolate and home-made waffles. Next, perhaps a quick glide over the ephemeral ice rink at Las Brisas restaurant, which combines the snow with the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea... It is time to be blown away by the 4-course menu from Michelinstarred chef Marcel Ravin.

Finally, to ring in the year 2017, each of the venues of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer will offer their own vision of enchantment and celebration. The Salle des Etoiles at Sporting Monte-Carlo proposes an unforgettable soirée with the Italian music trio “Il Volo”, who will light up the evening with their “pop-opera” repertoire. The Monaco Casinos will be filled with the clinking of champagne glasses, while the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort will set off a magical display of fireworks, which will be launched for the first time from the terrace of the Blue Gin bar. On 1 January, several brunches organised for the first family gatherings of the year, or for getting together with friends, will host guests at the Salle Empire of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo or at the Salle Belle Epoque of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.
