Val d’Isère opens 28 November 2015 Val d'Isere fr

In less than 3 weeks, board sports will once again take over Val d'Isère. Come and take your first turns and test the new ski and snowboard equipment  during the "Premieres Traces" (first tracks)  weekend on the 28 and 29 November 2015. In Val d'Isère, we guarantee the snow for the best sledging!

Val d’Isère is one of the best-known ski resorts in the world. It’s a delightfully authentic village with a fine baroque church, surrounded by chalets built in traditional style in wood, stone, and slate. The surrounding mountains, with 300km of slopes, provide outstanding terrain for all standards of skier and snowboarder.

But, perhaps most important of all in these uncertain winters, Val d’Isère offers guaranteed snow cover from the end of autumn right up until the beginning of May. It has a reputation as one the most snowsure resorts in Europe and, as a back up; it also has the largest artificial snowmaking facility outside North America.

If Nature fails to provide, Le Snow Factory can produce enough of the white stuff to fill Wembley Stadium to a depth of half a metre in just 60 minutes. The question most frequently asked about other ski resorts is: ‘When is the best time to visit?’ It really doesn’t matter when you go to Val d’Isère. This winter, you can ski on perfect groomed corduroy from the end of November to the beginning of May.
