The port of Le Havre is ideally located on the route between the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It has all facilities required for welcoming the smallest to the largest maritime and river cruise ships 24/7. The variety of tourist attractions available in Le Havre, Normandy and Paris helps to create visitor loyalty as, all year round, each stopover offers a range of new opportunities for exciting excursions for every category of cruise, be it contemporary, premium or luxury cruises.

Having shot to the top of the list of cruise destinations in Northern Europe by being marketed as “the Gateway to Paris”, Le Havre now wishes to highlight its own assets to cruise passengers, such as its World-heritage-listed 20th century architecture, its status as the birthplace of Impressionism and a seaside resort, as well as that of being a “City of Art and History”.
In 2017, the 500th anniversary of Le Havre’s founding will be a fantastic opportunity to discover and rediscover a uniquely modern, creative and open-minded city-port. Le Havre is expecting 140 calls and almost 400 000 pax (from 118 / 330 000 in 2016).

The Cruise Terminal of Le Havre has all the facilities required to give a service of quality to passengers in transit, or joining, or leaving a cruise. It covers up to 4 berths and has 3 reception facilities. The hall connected to Pierre Callet Pier which hosts almost 50 % of cruise calls, has benefited from total renovation prior to the 2017 season. With a new welcome desk, a mini boutique and sliding doors, for the passengers’ comfort, it now offers the same quality standards as Terminal 1, connected to Roger Meunier Pier.

The Cruise Department of the Tourist Office manages the cruise terminal in the context of an agreement with the Port Authority.

The emulation around the cruise activity has strengthened since the establishment of the Le Havre Cruise Club in 2012. The Le Havre Cruise Club gathers over 50 members including official entities (the port of Le Havre, the Le Havre Town Council, Urban District Council and Chamber of Commerce) and private partners who decided to become involved in the development of the activity. It is managed by the Tourist Office.
