The Hidden Terraces of Paris
Sometimes, it's nice to have a little break from the crowded streets and terraces, to feel closer to nature, without having to leave Paris. Some of the capital's gardens are a jealously kept secret.
Calm Under the Cobblestones
When walking down Rue Payenne, do not forget to push open the grand blue double door of number 11. The sunny courtyard of the Swedish Institute, based in the Hôtel de Marle, offers you a tranquil break, that you complement with fruit juices and Scandinavian sandwiches served by the adjoining Le Café suédois.

When the weather is nice
From mid-March to mid-October, the Un thé dans le jardin tea room sets up in a former greenhouse adjoining the Musée de la Vie romantique. Surrounded by roses and sheltered by the centenary trees, this garden is as bucolic as it is ideal for daydreaming.
