Corsica is the heir to a wine-growing savoir-faire going back the Greeks of Antiquity, who grew their own Alalia wines.
Deeply routed in tradition, Corsican wine-growers knew how to develop a truly high-quality market.
Highlighting the taste of local grape varieties and the large range of geographies on the island have allowed the region's wines to really stand out and develop their own personality. The result: a truly Corsican style, born from an island bathed in sunlight, altitude, and Mediterranean sea breezes.
Nine AOCs (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlées)
From Porto-Vecchio to Ajaccio in the South, from the Cap Corse to Aléria, wine routes across the Isle of Beauty invite you to discover its nine AOCs, or Protected Destination of Origin labels. Throughout its exceptional and preserved landscapes, Corsica is a feast for the eyes - and the tastebuds!
These gourmet stops contribute to the island's friendly flare: festivals dedicated to wine are great opportunities for visitors to really experience the traditions of the island, like the Célébration de la Saint-Martin.
From their high-altitude lakes surrounded by pine trees to coves full of clear crystal water and red porphyry cliffs, Corsica has a number of wines that you just have to taste to believe:
