An Emily in Paris inspired itinerary!

If there is one way to vicariously travel to France, it’s through Season 2 of the series Emily in Paris on Netflix! Here are the beautiful French locations that were featured in the show that you can visit in real life! Let’s explore France like Emily Cooper, shall we?

Gare du Nord - Paris

One of the busiest stations in Europe, the Gare du Nord has also been featured in several films like Bourne Identity, Ocean’s Twelve or Mr Bean’s Holiday. It is from here where Emily (the protagonist of the show, played by Lilly Collins) boards the Orient Express for a quick weekend getaway to the sunny South of France. The station itself is an architectural delight- with its modern neoclassical style, featuring twenty-three statues of famous sculptors- you will never get bored as you wait for your train to arrive.

Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat – French Riviera

Perched on the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula amongst a forest of pine trees, the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat (External link) has views to die for. In Emily in Paris, Emily stays here with her friends Mindy Chen (played by Ashley Park), and Camille (played by Camille Razat) while they explore the French Riviera. This Four Season’s Hotel, that looks down upon the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, also holds the prestigious ‘Palace’ distinction. For those looking for a glamourous retreat, the hotel is a perfect mix of old world charm and modern-day elegance.

Villefranche-sur-Mer – French Riviera

The quaint seaside town of Villefranche-sur-Mer was portrayed as a fictional representation of Saint-Tropez in the show Emily in Paris. In reality, this harbour town is located 75 miles east of St. Tropez. Its cobbled stairways, colourful houses with bright shutters, and flowers that outline the walls, makes it an ideal getaway for a day trip from Nice!

Paloma beach – French Riviera

The scenes at Laurent G's in St. Tropez were actually filmed in this little private paradise! The Paloma beach is a pebbled beach where you can indulge in quiet time with your family. Incidentally, the beach is named after the painter Pablo Picasso’s daughter, Paloma Picasso, as the painter used to spend a lot of time with his family on this beach, away from the hustle and bustle of the French Riviera. Since then, the beach has always been associated with family!

Père Lachaise Cemetery – Paris

Luc (played by Bruno Gouery) is possibly the most supportive of all of Emily’s colleagues in the show Emily in Paris. The two decide to go for lunch in Paris’ largest cemetery, where Luc takes her to visit the grave of Honoré de Balzac, a famous French novelist and playwright. On a stroll through the Père Lachaise Cemetery, you will find some famous tombs- Édith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Marcel Proust, Molière and Jim Morrison.

Le Champo cinema – Paris

Emily and Luc also go to watch a romantic drama film directed and written by François Truffaut at Le Champo cinema. Located in the Latin Quarter, this arthouse cinema used to be a favourite hotspot for important figures of the French cinema history.

La Samaritaine – Paris

As the show Emily in Paris progresses, we see that Emily has finally made a friend with whom she can practise her French! The two bond over a common love for shopping, and decide to visit the iconic Parisian department store, La Samaritaine located on the right bank of the Seine. The Art Deco and Art Nouveau landmark was recently reopened and redesigned, after being closed in 2005.

Bateaux Mouches- Paris

The party scene was filmed in this open-air riverboat called Bateaux Mouches that goes up and down the River Seine, providing fabulous views of the French capital’s iconic treasures. Emily decides to invite her classmate from French class, Alfie (played by Lucien Laviscount) for an event that she was organising for her company Savoir.

Tortuga Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann - Paris

Lunch with a view ? Oui ! The rooftop restaurant at Europe’s largest department store, Galeries Lafayette, is featured in Season 2 of Emily in Paris, and offers unparalleled views of Paris’ skyline- including a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower! Emily comes here for lunch with Camille, after their major fallout with Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo) Camille’s ex-boyfriend. (spoiler alert!)

Le Raidd- Paris

On another night out, Julian (played by Samuel Arnold) takes Emily to Le Raidd, one of Paris’ most popular gay bars located near the historic Centre Georges Pompidou. It is famous for its Shower Show with male dancers on Thursdays.

La Nouvelle Eve – Paris

In the show Emily in Paris, Mindy performs her first drag set at one of the oldest and most elegant Revue Theatres in Paris- La Nouvelle Eve! Located close to Moulin Rouge in the Montmartre district, you can enjoy watching one of Paris’ oldest traditions here- the cabaret!

Le Café Marly – Paris

With a gorgeous view of The Louvre and its iconic glass pyramid, Le Café Marly is featured at a business lunch with Emily, Camille, and Emily’s boss Sylvie (played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).

Palace of Versailles – Paris

The finale of Season 2 of Emily in Paris on Netflix sees an avant-garde fashion show inspired by Marie Antoinette, that takes place at the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles (External link) , the former French royal residence located 12 miles west of Paris.

Pont Neuf- Paris

Set up as the backdrop for a dramatic last scene, this is where we see Emily contemplate on making one of the most important decisions of her life- leaving us with a cliff-hanger. The Pont Neuf bridge is the oldest standing bridge across the Seine River in Paris!
