High in the French Alps lies one of the world's coolest Pride events—and certainly one of the highest-elevation. At 3,450 meters (11,320 feet), European Snow Pride finds a rocking home for its week of music, parties, and world-class skiing at Tignes Station. In 2020, it hits the slopes from March 14 to 21.
On the program
As befitting a snow-themed celebration of gay travelers in the Alps, European Snow Pride offers the best skiing the continent can offer. With over 300 kilometers (186 miles) of slopes, all Pride visitors from snowbunnies to expert plankers can find a suitable run. And, as one of the snowiest spots in the Alps , visitors are assured to have a blanket of powder to glide down.
Après-Ski à la Pride
Like any winter outing in France, the après-ski ritual is just as important as the slopes themselves. However, during European Snow Pride, it's less fondue and cableknit sweaters and more dancefloors and swimwear. Splash around, play with inflatable toys and thaw out with hundreds of fellow partygoers at the pool parties (the famous Lagon aquatic center), or hit the saunas and jacuzzis to chill.
If you want to heat things up, check out the outdoor floor presided over by DJs and performers like Sonique, DJ Jon Pleased Wimmin, Soraya Vivian, Lady V Sax and DJ David Noakes to name only a few under the shadow of Alpine peaks. Similar to the range of slopes, European Snow Pride offers a range of packages, from 429€ per person including accommodation, 6-day Tignes pass, lift and event pass.
A gay village in the Alps
A pedestrian-only village, Tignes Val Claret's venues, lodgings, and partner restaurants and bars are all within walking distance of each other. Everything Pride-goers could want can be found in the village, nestled in the mountains, creating a homey community for the duration of European Snow Pride.
Tignes, as longtime supportor of the LGBT community, is the perfect match for European Snow Pride. Tignes has hosted a gay ski week since 2008, and hosted a pride celebration in 2015, the first for a ski resort. The 2020 version of European Ski Pride at Tignes promises to welcome the over 1000 guests coming from all over the world to a once-in-a-lifetime ski party!
