Exhibition "Retour du vaste monde" at MuMa-Le Havre

From February 23rd to April 14th, "La Bande des Havrais", a collective of 11 artists from the Norman city, moved to the Musée d'art moderne André Malraux in Le Havre, in Normandy, to present works and creations inspired by trips around the world.

They are a visual artist, graphic designer, videographer, director, choreographer, rapper, musician, illustrator and cartoonist. What do they have in common? They’re all from Le Havre. And they all left Normandy for a few weeks or months to enrich their vision as artists with other horizons.

From Tokyo to Liverpool, from Brazil to Australia, from the Caribbean Sea to Limoges or Montreal where they settled in residence as part of a joint artistic project, they recorded stories, compositions, creations. By scattering around the vast world, each one with the destination of his choice, the artists of La Bande des Havrais have stimulated their inspiration, developed their curiosity, and nourished their imagination. They were also, during their stay, ambassadors of their city to the four corners of the planet.

From the end of the world to the home port of Le Havre

From this abundant material, from their meetings and exchanges, MuMa (Musée d’art moderne André Malraux –Le Havre) will welcome the exhibition "Retour du vaste monde" ("Return from the wide world"). Presented in theme with "A summer in Le Havre," this exhibition is a call to artists of the world to come and enjoy this great cultural celebration, established in 2017 to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Norman city.
