In France, the first day of the summer is marked by many concerts, mostly outdoors—in the streets, squares, gardens, courtyards, museums, castles, bars and venues all over France.

In 2018, the Ministry of Culture wishes to reconnect with the spirit its origins: the concert of the Palais Royal in Paris is replaced by 6 concerts in different regions, in emblematic spots like rural areas, urban outskirts, and medium-sized towns.
The cities elected this year? Chateaux-Arnoux-Saint-Auban in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, Château-Thierry in the Hauts-de-France, Marsillargues in Occitania, Pacy-sur-Eure in Normandy, Pierrefitte-sur-Seine near Paris, and Verdun in the East. Where each concert will host an emerging group in the first part of the evening and an established artist in closing.
A quarter of a century after its creation, the event has lost none of its vitality.
