The Mont-Saint-Michel Bay Marathon welcomes 4,000 runners from all over France and elsewhere in Europe.
Starting from Granville, Avranches or Cancale and finishing at the mighty UNESCO-listed Abbey itself, the series of runs makes the most of Normandy’s stunning scenery and great outdoors.
In 2017 the event celebrated its 20th anniversary, an occasion to launch two new race formats: a magnificent trail along the Norman coast which finishes in a blaze of glory at the Abbey summit, and a half-marathon setting off from Avranches, a very popular distance which allows families and amateur runners to be a part of the weekend.
In addition to the races, visitors can learn about Normandy’s heritage, foodie culture and the secrets of the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay with a range of supporting activities on offer.
