Located in the village of Ardoise in the Gard department, Château Saint Maurice was for many years home to monks who used to grow lavender, fruit, olives and grapes. Now, you can walk through the gardens of the estate or take a guided tour of the 19th-century wine cellars located in the old silkworm nursery, and visit the winery, set up in an old sheep barn. In the left wing of the castle, two apartments are available for guests to rest and settle in to the tranquil country atmosphere. There is also a new restaurant on the premises, La Table, serving traditional cuisine.
