France Remains a Top Meetings & Incentive Destination

The 545 international meetings held in France in 2016 last year have brought the destination to number four in the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) ranking after the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom.
The good news continues with Paris: after being top of the list in the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) ranking in 2014, Paris has now reclaimed first place with 196 international association meetings hosted in 2016. The Paris Convention Center at the Porte de Versailles expected to reopen this Fall will be a new addition to the city’s state-of-the-art offerings for meetings and congresses. France’s leading position in the industry is reinforced by the ease of access, modern railway system, hospitality, beautiful landscapes, art-de-vivre, gastronomy and developments in several areas of expertise. These areas range from technology to biotechnologies, healthcare, finance, digital systems and transportation and constitute strong arguments for global scientists and researchers to meet in France.
The incentive segment also remains strong with competitive suppliers providing their most inspiring and memorable ideas: movie culture, racing adventures, beach or mountain activities, dinner cruises, vineyards, perfume making, cooking classes and historic villas are only a few of the reasons why international planners choose France for groups of all sizes.
Lastly a recent increase in the number of hotel openings and air connections to major airports help to make the organization of any type of event easier by bringing more options to the industry.
