Paris region, an ever-changing destination

According to Hamid Kamil, Director of Promotions and Business Travel at Paris Region Tourism Board, tourism professionals in this ever- changing destination get to enjoy the best job in the world: welcoming visitors from all around the world, to an exceptional destination.

Atout France: Describe your favorite landscape in Paris Region
Hamid Kamil: That really is a difficult question: I am equally moved by the beauty of the châteaux and the French-style parks, such as Versailles or Vaux le Vicomte, as I am by the countryside landscapes along the Seine that inspired the Impressionists, or by the beauty of the architecture of the new Louis Vuitton museum… it is precisely this diversity that lends to the incomparable charm and energy of our region.

AF : If you only had 24 hours in Paris Region, where would you stop to eat and drink?
HK : there again I am spoiled for choice: drinking an espresso on the terrace of one of the countless Parisian cafés or, on the roof of Galeries Lafayette, lunch in a gastronomic restaurant with a view at of a Parisian museum (the d’Orsay, the Musée du quai Branly, the Centre Pompidou ), taking the opportunity to explore one of the exceptional exhibitions that punctuate the year, and dining along the Seine on a river cruise. It’s perfect for admiring the most beautiful monuments in Paris in a unique setting.

AF: What is your favorite season in Paris Region and why?
HK: off the top of my head I would initially say springtime, because of its mild climate, the light, and for all the outdoor activities that are possible: festivals, night time events, fireworks, and also because of the major sporting events like Roland Garros. But in fact I must say that I love the region in every season: the charm of summer, the effervescence of autumn, the illuminations in winter. In the Paris region, every season promises to provide a special experience for each and every visitor.
