Cultural Cuisine... In Parisian Museums

Feeling a bit peckish between museum visits? Take a relaxing break in one of the many Parisian museum restaurants. An original idea: exotic and unforgettable.

Café le Jardin at the Petit Palais

Opening out onto the interior garden of the Fine Arts Museum of the City of Paris, this cafe is the definition of serenity.

A real contrast against the lively atmosphere on the Champs-Elysées, with nearly 100 seats waiting for you to enjoy classic French cuisine.

Les Ombres at the Quai Branly Museum

The cafe takes its name from the Eiffel Tower, its neighbour, which throughout the day casts its shadow (ombre) over it.

Designed by the architect Jean Nouvel, the restaurant was built on the roof terrace of the collection area “Arts and Civilisation of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas”. Completely encased by glass, this restaurant offers a panoramic view of France’s capital.

On the menu: exotic cuisine, reflecting the exhibited items and objects.

Café Campana at Musée d’Orsay

With its large glass windows, this cafe presents a clear view of the Seine.

The room itself is actually a monument. Opened in 1900, this room now listed as a Historical Monument, was revamped with a touch of modernity giving new life to the golf-leafing and chandeliers, where you can enjoy traditional French cuisine.

Café Carlu at the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine (House of Architecture and Heritage)

Located in the Palais de Chaillot, this cafe is possibly one of the most stylish of all Parisian museum cafés.

Aside from the contemporary decor, it boasts a terrace showing off a great view of the Eiffel Tower, the Champs de Mars and the Trocadéro gardens.

Local cuisine is available on the set menu.

The Café at Musée Rodin

Right in the middle of the Musée Rodin gardens, just a few steps from the statues of this master sculptor, including The Burghers of Calais, The Gates of Hell, and even The Thinker, this is the perfect place to have a snack at any time of the day.

Next to the museum, this eating place promises peace and serenity. Behind the windows or out on the terrace, no detail is forgotten in giving out simple yet quality meals.

The Café Grand Louvre

Located beneath the Pyramid, in the heart of the museum, this modern, half floral half wooded designed cafe offers both traditional and modern French cuisine.

Burgers have been revamped with foie-gras!

The Café Grand Louvre is a peaceful haven in one of the most visited museums in Paris.

Café Le Georges at the Pompidou Centre

Located on the 6th floor of Beaubourg, this restaurant features an incomparable view of the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower and the Sacred Heart Basilica, among others.

The modern architecture of the place is reflected by the use of aluminium throughout.

World cuisine is served, but also adapted French cuisine.

Zyriab by Noura” at the Arab World Institute

This panoramic restaurant on the 9th floor of the Arab World Institute is the perfect place to experience Lebanon and its mouth-watering cuisine.

On the top floor terrace, take in a wonderful view of the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral and the Seine. If you prefer to stay inside, behind the huge glass windows designed by the architect Jean Nouvel, you can still discover one of the best views of Paris.

Café Jacquemart-André

Just a few minutes from the Champs-Elysées, this is one of the most beautiful salons de thé in Paris: Louis XV sculpted wood console tables, tapestries from the 18th Century, frescos on the ceiling, gold leaf and crystal chandeliers. Dream decor, perfect for tasting pastries from the best Parisian artisans.

At lunch time, it’s a great place for a light meal or a weekend brunch.

Café Marly at the Louvre

A great view of the Pyramid!

Nestled beneath the arches of the Louvre, this Second Empire-style eatery presents a bold, modern menu.

Elegant decor, golden woodwork: have a lovely lunch, as you slowly sink into the atmosphere of a former royal residence and embrace what life might have been like.

Bon appétit!
