The Lafayette Escadrille Memorial honors American pilots came to fly for France before April 1917. Together they formed the Lafayette Flying Corps, those serving with French squadrons and in the all American squadron the Lafayette Escadrille. It is a memorial to the sixty-eight pilots who died in that service and two of their French comrades who are buried here. It lies in the Parc du Saint Cloud between Versailles and Paris at Marnes–la-Coquette.
