Paris: An autumn highlighted by design and contemporary art

The leaves of the trees reflect hues of amber, the days are slowly starting to shorten... that can only mean one thing: autumn prepares for its big come back in the capital – with a celebration of art and design. There’s a fabulous programme for the fall season in Paris including: Paris Design Week, FIAC and Nuit Blanche. Mark your diaries!

Paris Design Week opens the season as we slowly slide towards the autumn. From September 6, overlapping with the famous Maison & Objet show, Paris Design Week invites art lovers and those who are inquisitive to wander its galleries and showrooms to discover the latest collections of designers from both the French and international scenes. Its easy to lose yourself in the colours unearthed from the archives of Atelier Mériguet-Carrère of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, famed creator of paint and high-end wallpaper. You can’t help but admire the hanging lamp known as "Hutte", born of a collaboration between designer Matali Crasset and the historic store of Roger Pradier in the 9th arrondissement. Slip into the stylish bathroom of a Parisian at the showroom of THG Paris, Boulevard Haussmann, as they present a collaboration with the decorator and interior designer Stephanie Coutas. Finally, discover great new designers of the future at the exhibition Le Off, which takes place this year at Ground Control, an area of shops, bars and culture close to the Gare de Lyon.
